Doug and Ann
Ann is part owner of Johnson’s Personality “+” Interiors. She is a member of IFDA and an allied member of ASID. Ann graduated from Dakota County Vocational School in interior design and enhanced her education by studying art and floral design. She has a wide range of accomplishments over the last 40 plus years with residential homes and commercial projects including hospitals, colleges, restaurants, offices and many other businesses.
In 2002 Johnson’s won the popular public vote for their room at the Minneapolis Home Show. Ann was commissioned by the Larson Boat Company to specify colors and materials for the 2008 cabin cruisers.
Ann’s primary work and design has been in prominent lake home, log & timber homes in the Brainerd lakes area as well as upscale homes in Arizona and Florida. These retreats for the client’s wants and needs are individual and creatively inspired.
Ann will develop a design as unique and personal for you by adding the “personality” as only she can do.
Doug is part owner of Johnson’s Personality “+” Interiors. He continued on with the family business in Bloomington, MN-C.J. Johnson Draperies with his wife Ann from 1970 to 1991. At that time Doug was mainly involved with custom window treatments and blinds for residential and commercial use.
In 1992, Doug and Ann established a new location and name change to Johnson’s Personality “+” Interiors at Nisswa, MN. They opened up a full service interior design showroom featuring name brand furniture, area rugs and home accessories along with their custom window treatments they have the areas largest fabric selection. Doug as an expert in window treatments will be able to help you select the proper application for all your windows. Personality Plus is also a priority dealer for a Hunter Douglas.
As a testimony to their dedication for the future, their daughter Wendy has joined the family business thus making Johnson’s Personality ”+” Interiors three generations strong and continue on with their motto “Once a customer, always a friend”.

Designer, daughter of the Johnson’s, Wendy is also a floral designer and photographer. She has exceptional talent with colors, fabric, finishes with wall texture and design in window fashions and bedding.
Wendy’s talents include faux finishes, wallpapering and many home improvement skills, tile and placement specifying. She is specializing in contemporary design and artistry with collage wall art and wood finishes and crackled looks. Wendy attended Dakota County Vocational School. She services residential and commercial clientele.
Karen Peterson has been in the design field for 20 plus years, She owned her own interior design business in Minneapolis and until recently managed the Minnetonka Ethan Allen store.
Karen’s life dream has been to relocate to the Brainerd Lakes Area. She is all settled in and is working with Johnson’s Personality Plus Interior located in Nisswa, Minnesota. Johnson’s is a complete interior design studio. Home Sellers Edge clients will benefit from the many resources that are available.
